My new scrap room/dining room is still a work in progress, the drywall came down, new has gone back up, tape and mud added and hopefully the texture will be done tomorrow!!..anyway, the guys left the doorways covered in plastic to keep the heat in and keep the dust down..anyway, my camera is stowed inside my computer armoire, taped inside the room...bummer, didnt realize how many times I went to take a pic, till I couldnt. The remodel saga continues......

tummy troubles

I have struggled with stomach pain for the past 6 wks...my doc did bloodwork and put me on a PPI drug for acid reflux...didnt work...so the next step was to have an ultrasound test done,which I did today. They found a gallstone, but since my gallbladder looks fine and the pain is on the left side of my tummy they dont think this is the issue...good news/bad news..no apparent problem, but no solutions either.
Back to the drawing board..

longing for spring

Every year during the after Christmas sales, I buy myself an Amarylis. I dont know why I never think to ask for one on my wish list, but it is something I want every year. It always amazes me how fast they grow, you can almost see them do it!!
Guess it gives me a little taste of Spring, to watch something grow and become a gorgeous flower- this year's bulb is to be a red flower, I will post it when it opens..hurry up Spring!!

The Bucket List!

Roger and I went to see this movie tonight, it was fabulous- but very hard to watch. It brought back many feelings of when my Mom was diagnosed and terminally ill. It does have many funny parts (imagine Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman together!)but I cried more than I laughed. Was it worth the emotions?..absolutely- 2 thumbs up!
(but bring tissues)

let the drywalling begin!

I apologize in advance, for the next few months, many of my posts will be about our home improvements..boring for some-EXCITING for me..
When we bought this house, it had original 1985 wallpaper on many of the walls, and unfortunately when they hung the paper, they didnt texture under it, so the bottom half of the walls were textured and painted and the top was just papered...flash forward 22 yrs and with the wallpaper gone, we have to texture where the paper was.
When the paper was removed a good chunk of the paper on the drywall came off as well..so we have to remove drywall so the texture guy can come in fresh and get us all matched up with what is on the bottom...ARG!!
So this is Roger's project to do today while I am at work..had to document the journey..one fresh new wall coming right up!!

kitchen remodel

We are finally about ready to begin our remodel, the plan is to re-do the kitchen, (including cupboards,countertops,appliances,floor and lighting) redo the powder room cupboards,counter,texture walls,tile floor and lighting and then if the money holds out we want to pull up the carpet and refinish the hardwood floors throughout the downstairs...fingers crossed we can budget tightly and still get the look we want and have the funds to do it all!!...here are pics of what the kitchen counters/cupboards look like now, and then what we have picked out for the redo(the granite tile is kinda hard to see,but it is there)...Cant wait!!
